About us
Lækur Hostel & Guesthouse is a family-run business owned by brothers Björn and Alfreð. Our name, Lækur (pronounced “Like…ur”), means a small river or stream – inspired by the hidden geothermal stream flowing beneath our street in Laugardalur, Reykjavík’s historic geothermal area.
Our logo reflects the heritage windows of our building – a nod to Reykjavík’s architecture and history. Lækur is more than accommodation; it’s a small piece of the city’s story.
